SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller driver installed...can't see SD card

    Question

  • I have a HP 8510w laptop and is working well with W7... almost. The laptop has a build in SD slot, which according to Device Manager is seeing as SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller. Will not pick up the SD card. I have reformatted it as NTFS using an external media card reader, and the card itself appears to be working. Any ideas?

  • I don't know if it's a related problem, but several of us with Toshiba Type-A SD Host Controllers are suffering from a non-functional SD slot as well.

Unfortunately, we haven't found a solution as yet.

  • Hello,

If there are Vista Drivers available you might be able to use some tips provided in the Sticky Thread to install them.  But from what i have seen many of the SD Card Readers are not working and require a driver update from teh manufacturer.
