My Windows wouldn't open on computer, so I tried to reinstall. Now getting this error message;Setup cannot find Standardr.WW\Stdr.WW.cab.

    Question

  • I am not sure what happened, not too good with computers, but my Windows crashed. I tried to reinstall XP and it is not recognizing the Product Key.  Now tried to re-load Office 2007 and am getting the following error message; Setup cannot find Standardr.WW\Stdr.WW.cab.  I've tried to do a system restore, but it will not go back far enough.  Please help!!!

  • You can activate over the phone if its doesnt recognize the key  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307890 As far as the office, are you installing from a disk?

  • "Setup cannot find Standardr.WW\Stdr.WW.cab" - that is coming from the Office install, right?  Your disc maybe dirty/scratch, you can see here for instructions on how to clean it: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Scratched-CD

If it's a copied/burned CD, say from Technet, etc...  Then reburn a copy.  Or if it's on a USB stick, copy the files over again to it :)
