    Question

  • Hi.
I ran DriverAgent to find out if I have any outdated drivers.
The result says the following are outdated:
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2934
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2935
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2936
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2937
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2938
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 2939
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 293A
intel(R)ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller - 293C
    USB Composite Device
I checked in device manager and found out that the driver date is 2006 and the provider is microsoft.
Just want to know if I have to update and if I have to, where to find the update.
    Thanks for your help.

  • HI, Thanks.

But after I downloaded and installed it, my system still show that I am using driver version 6.1.7100.0? My system can not detect a usb hub now I wonder it is because of the driver not up to date?

  • Did you install the driver correctly?

To make sure that the new driver updates the old, you have to launch the installer with parameters:

    X:\""".exe -overall -override -overwrite

(For more informaion please refer to the integrated readme).

Than the new chipset will be installed without consideríng the old driver.
Please do so and take a look again after.
Normally it should be fine than.

    Regards

  • It is not working. I am kind of confuse. My laptop is Dell M4400 and it is using P45 chip set. According to various readings from internet, it should be ICH10, but why my system shows it is ICH9? I am not sure if I installed the wrong upgrade files and my the system installed ICH9 drivers.

  • Well, the link I posted is the official installer, ICH10 too of course.
So you tried installing with the parameters?

    1- Download the software: http://drivereasy.com/DriverEasy_Setup.exe

    2-install setup and make scan.

3-Select ICH9 family USB. download and install.

Result: Driver has beem updated from Microsoft 2006 to Intel 2008
