I want to share folders in Windows 7 with a Vista PC on a Wireless Network

    Question

  • Hello:

I have read about 30 posts on my issue and still I am unable to share a folder in Windows 7 with a Vista workstation.  Files in the Windows 7 public folder can be seen and accessed by Vista, but when I'm in Vista, I can see the shared Non-Public Windows 7 folders but when I double click them, I am denied permission.  Most posts say that a Homegroup folder can't be shared with Vista.   I have removed the permissions requirements on both systems, but still get challenged.

I really don't want to use the Public folder, so do you have any suggestions on how a regular Windows 7 folder can be shared so it can be accessed Read/Write by a Vista computer?

    Regards,
