Install additional language Windows 7 professional

    Question

  • Hi everybody,

I've installed windows 7 professional on my laptop. And I want to change the language into Dutch.

I've downloaded the lp.cab file, but when I go to control panel and clock, region, language their is no option to change the display language.
As I googled a lot of forum, I discovered it is possible with a command
    C:\Windows\system32>dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Users\Administrato
    r\Desktop\lp.cab

And a lot of people suceeded, but I get an error.
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 6.1.7600.16385

    Image Version: 6.1.7600.16385

    Processing 1 of 1 - Adding package Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package
    ~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~nl-NL~6.1.7100.0

    Error: 0x800f081e

    Can someone help me?
Or tell me another way to do it?

    It is really possible...

  • Hi,

indeed it is possible, I succeeded a while ago with the version I had. I had to do the following things:

open command  as the administrator then do the next:

    DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:(directory naar lp.cab)

    after that:
    bcdedit /set {current} locale nl-NL

    daarna:
    bcdboot %WinDir% /l nl-NL

Then you execute regedit and go to the next thing:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEM
    CurrentControlSet
    Control
    MUI
    UILanguages
     Delete en-US

Reboot the system and welcome to your windows 7 professional in your preferred language.
    Have a lot of fun!!!

  • Windows 7 Professional does not support language packs, you can only install language packs on Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate.

    this is not true,

i've done this one a professional...

the problem is that your version of the lp is not correct...
you have the 7600 build and the lp is for the 7100 build

  • Be aware: This tool (Vistalizator) and other workarounds (possibly) may change some system files and turn your Windows OS into "non-genuine". Please don't complain if this happens. (The MUI packs are designed to work only with Win7 Ultimate/Enterprise, and any attempt to bypass this can give unexpected results. There are enough user reports for that, see various posts in http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/threads.)
