how to re-install Bluetooth Support Service in Windows 8?

    Question

  • Windows Control Panel was not showing Bluetooth.

I was tried to install Bluetooth drive but that was not recognizing bluetooth device, after attempting many tries i found that my Bluetooth Support Service is not working and corrupted Bluetooth driver are not getting uninstall. So I deleted that directly. Now Bluetooth Support Service is missing. bthsrv.dll is there but only service is missing. Please tell me how to fix this issue?

  • 1. What do you see in Device Manager? If there is a trace to vendor and model, you can use the latest driver. For example for Broadcom it is here http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php

    2. Sometimes the problem is cause by wrong initial procedure after vanilla plain install (missing support from computer or motherboard vendor - chipset driver, etc)

    3. For older computer you need not find proper driver and/or you may find the the computer (or device) is not on compatibility list.
