Win 7 Pro. Action Centre reports MSE "on", "working" and "up to date". Security center tells me it has not recorded an anti-virus product. Confused or what!

    Question

  • Win 7 Pro. Action Centre reports MSE on and working. Security center tells me it has not recorded an anti-virus product. Microsoft products don't seem to know each other.

HAVE I VALID ANTI VIRUS OR NOT? Can anybody throw any light on issue?

    QueryQuery Result
      root\SecurityCenter:SELECT * FROM AntiVirusProduct

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your feedback.

Based on my research, I suggest you uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials completely first. Then please reinstall it and upgrade the virus definition to check the result.

  • Hi,

    I have the same problem.
I have tried the qpplicqle suggestions from the link but there were no inconsistencies.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled MSE but the same problem.

    Any advice please?
