  • Hi,

Please disable your manual configuration for IP address and DNS, select "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".

Following this, please check if you can connect to internet.

If not, please upload the ipconfig /all result and directly try to ping an address.

    Thanks!

  • To sum up, when you connect the ethernet cable to your laptop, you are able to browse the internet,  but when you plug the same cable into the desktop, internet does not work.  Nothing is changing on the cable except where the one end is plugged in, either the laptop or desktop.

From what you have posted here, I do not see what could be causing the issue right away.  All the settings do seem the same.

From the desktop, are you able to ping an IP address on the internet?  If you open a command prompt, and type in "ping 4.2.2.2"  what happens?
