One letter on the keyboard does not work

    Question

  • One letter does not work on my keyboard. Just one, its the one between the F and H. I have tried another keyboard which works with my other computer and it's still does not work. One uses XP and the other one Vista. Obviously, it is my computer.  have no idea what could cause this. Never seen this before. I need help.

  • I've never seen anything like that before either.  My first thought would have been to try another keyboard as well.

Perhaps there is some software running that is reserving that G key for something?  I know Windows+G shows the gadgets.

How long as it been an issue?  Any changes that you know of around the time it began?

  • Hi,

Due to this issue is not related to your keyboard, I suggest you try to check the software conflicts, boot into Safe Mode to check the result:

Start your computer in safe mode

If this issue does not occur in Safe Mode, try to perform a Clean Boot to determine the root cause:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    Hope it helps.
