Dell Inspiron 1545 DVD player not working.

    Question

  • Hello.

I have Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. It had Windows vista and last night i installed Windows 7. It had two partitions, C: (primary drive) and D: (recovery drive). i deleted all the partitions and made three in total appx 100 GB each. Now everything went all right but then i noticed that after the install, my DVD drive is not showing up in computer and it is not ejecting from the eject button on the keyboard as well. It only ejects from the button on the drive it self. It is not reading any disk and now I'm stuck. I searched a lot on internet, found this link (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprohardware/thread/60a68449-33c0-4d64-8a29-b12f2d69f873) and followed the procedure but it didn't help either. i changed it to ATA mode but my DVD player just does not ready anything, it spins the disk and that's about it. I tried to install the Vista back again, but since its not reading anything, there's nothing i can do.

    Please help...

    Thanks.
