Windows 7 restore deleted .exe files in 'Downloads' folder.

    Question

  • I recovered gigantic files from USB HDD whose partitions were lost. Today I read e-mail from Microsoft who offered Windows 8 upgrade, but failed PayPal online payment procedure caused computer's download speed reducing to crawl (from speeds of 250 KBPS reducing to 14 KBPS). I don't know reason. I restored to an earlier restore point, and restoration deleted .exe files I recovered from USB HDD leaving other files and folders.

Now how to regain speed of download from 14 KBPS to 250 KBPS? and whether user files must be stored on other partition?

  • I am afraid that you are mixing more problems and it is not clear what and where is problem.

Speed of transfer depends on more aspects. Try to download in the early morning.

Any issues with Paypal solve with Paypal support.

  • Hi,

System Restore affects Windows system files, programs, and registry settings. It can also make changes to scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files created under any user account on your computer.

You can undo the changes system restore makes:

    Undo System Restore
