  • This is fixed now.

Probably my fault but it appears Windows 7 was attempting to locate updates provided by my System Admin first, I clicked on check for updates online and it was fine.

  • Hello,

    Try the following:

    • Run chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
    • Download and install Windows Update System Readiness tool for Windows 7
    • Reset Windows update components
    • Disable all security softwares
    • Download and the update manually

If this does not help, I think it will be better to perform a repair install of your OS.

  • Hi JamesCCA,

Did you receive any error after run system readiness tool and system file check?

If all the above doesn't work, please upload the update cbs log, which is located in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.txt, it could help us find which step failed.

Zip then upload it to your SkyDrive, put it in a public folder, then reply a folder link here. I'll check it later.

    Regards,

    Miya

  • If you have recently changed your Hard Disk Drive you may need a new driver.

    This worked for me see: h t t p : / / w w w . r u p e r t . i d . a u / t u t o r i a l s / e r r o r /

for details.  PS I had to place spaces between each character in the above URL because I can't post links in this form yet.
