    Question

  • Ok so this is the second time this has happened. It's coming up with windows is not genuine again. I had my whole windows 7 replaced about a month ago because of this and I'm a university student so I really can't afford to lose my computer or pay for it to be fixed. It say the BIOS is missing so windows cannot be verified. This is what happened last time.

I've followed the steps and typed in the product key and nothing changed. Heres the MGADiag report

You need to change the Key to the one on the COA sticker on your machine – then activate by telephone.
The Key you re-entered is the same one as before – the manufacturer’s Key, not your own.

I thought so, but I'm not sure how to change it, or if it even will. I'm currently able to use the computer so I'm not to disheartened by the problem, but I do not like being told my software is fake when it clearly isn't. Is there anyway to fix it? Or have all options been exhausted?

Simply go to the System Properties page, then click on the Change Product Key link at the bottom – follow the instructions, and then activate by phone.
If you have problems at that point, run another MGADiag report, and post the results here.

  • Unusual - the PC is an OEM one (Advent/Dixons) - and the SLIC table appears to be present as far as MGADiag is concerned, but the OS is unable ot see the markers.

    Two ossible ways out -

    1) recreate the Liceninsg store, and hope that that enables the OS to see the WIndows Markers in the BIOS,

    2) Change teh Product Key in use to the COA Key on the machine's case.

The following will do the first - and if necessary, the second....

    Recreate the Licensing Store
    1) Click Start button.
    2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
    3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
    4) Type: net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, this is ok.
    5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    8) Type: net start sppsvc
    9) Type: slui.exe
    10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically.

(Note that if you are asked for ethe Key, you MUST use the one on the COA sticker on teh machine's case - no other one will work. You may then have to ativate by telephone)

Once complete, please post another MGADiag report.

How to fix Error code 0xc004f063 manually?

Try this to manually fix the error code problem on your computer. But before making any change, it is highly recommended that you can first back up your Windows registry as you can easily restore it when there is something wrong.

    1. Click Start, and in the Search box type:  slui.exe 4

    2. Press ENTER on your Keyboard

    3. Select your Country.

    4. Take the Phone Activation option, but hold on for a real person, if automatic Activation does not work to explain.

    Regards,

You need to change the Key to the one on the COA sticker on your machine – then activate by telephone.
The Key you re-entered is the same one as before – the manufacturer’s Key, not your own.

The machine will NOT activate over the phone until the Key has been changed to the one on the COA sticker, rather than the OEM_SLP Key.

  • I thought so, but I'm not sure how to change it, or if it even will.

  • For what version and edition of Windows is this machine licensed, according to the COA Sticker on the case?

From what I can see, it's likely that this mahine shipped with Vista installed, rather than Windows 7 - which implies that the current install is counterfeit.

Also - the current OEM_SLP Key that's installed is not valid when using anything other than the original Recovery media for the proper machine.

IF the COA sticker is for Windows 7 Home Premium, You need to change the Product Key to the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case (or inside the battery compartment),  using the Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

You may need to activate by phone.
