Apply GPO on Windows XP

    Question

  • Hello i'm trying to add group policy  for a user account on windows xp pro, and having some dificulities.

    This build was ment for a network but i want to use it as a standalone, so i am trying to setup gpo for a user but not getting any where, when trying to apply the settings it is also affecting the administrator which i don't want.

    I want to stop the user from accessing the cd rom can someone help with this.

  • Well alternative way you don't need to  use GPO to prevent users from using CD.

    you may simply just remove the CD drive.
