Where is final SP2 download for MSDN?

All replies

  • I'm also looking in both MSDN and Technet subscriber downloads.

Oddly, the "Last Updated" date for "Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 Beta (x86) - DVD (English)", etc is 04-28-2009 (obviously they mean 28/04/2009) :-)

Perhapse the item is miss-labeled and this is the RTM? But there is no standalone download to update my existing installation.

  • I am puzzled as well, there are announcements all over the place that the SP2 RTM is on MSDN and Technet, but although I have subscriptions to both, I don't see the RTM anywhere.

I also see posts all over the place of people who have "installed the RTM", but where did they get it (leaked copies?)?

Please assist, if I am looking in the wrong place, or perhaps the RTM is labeled and or dated other than I would expect?

  • Hello

The download is available on TechNet now. Listed as "Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 for all editions (x86, x64, i64) - DVD (English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish)" under Windows Vista. Download size 1,376.79mb.

  • Will we be able to get an integrated image with SP2 for Windows Vista and Server 2008, or do we have to stick with the SP1 versions and upgrade?

Strikestorm, you should be able to get it from the MSDN Subscriber Downloads page if you have an MSDN or Technet account.
Direct link to it NOT allowed.  Sign in with your MSDN or Technet account to get the Vista/Server 2008 SP2 download.

Do you mean SP2 being available to the general public on Microsoft Update/Windows Update, crt?  Most likely towards the end of May.  perhaps the week after Memorial Day.

Remember how and when Vista SP1 was released?  Vista SP1 was finalized in early February 2008 and released to the public in mid-March 2008.  Same pattern applies with Vista/Server 2008 SP2.

The integrated or slipstreamed Vista SP2/Server 2008 SP2 DVD ISO image files along with other SP2 checked builds, language packs and symbol releases are now available on MSDN/Technet; posted either May 11 or May 14.
