I've purchased every version of Windows and Office since year 1....but now, I just got a new computer and Vista and Office 2007 and notice my standard font, Courier Old is not there!!!! This font is the required standard font in many legal communities. Is there somewhere that I can download an authentic MS version of the Courier Old font for Vista and Office? (The Courier New font looks to "weak" in legal briefs when in printed form). If not, I may have to switch over to Corel WordPerfect which still defaults to Couier Old. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Before moving on, I would like to explain that the font name is “Courier New”, and Microsoft does not have “Courier Old” font.
There are different versions for this font:
Version 2.55 - This WGL4 version of Courier New was first supplied with the Final Windows 95 euro update that shipped on 4 November 1998. This version contains the euro.
Version 2.50 - This version of Courier New is supplied with European versions of Windows 98. North American users can add it by installing multilanguage support. This version contains the euro.
Version 2.45 - This Win ANSI version of Courier New is supplied with the US version of Windows 98.
Version 2.01 - This special version of Courier New is only supplied with the beta version of the Windows 95 euro update patch.
Version 2.00 (Win ANSI) - This Win ANSI version of Courier New is supplied with Windows 95.
Version 2.00 (WGL4) - This WGL4 version of Courier New is supplied with Windows 95 and Windows NT4. This version does not contain the euro.
Version 1.00 - This version was supplied with Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11.

Please note Microsoft does not offer the font downloading on website since 2002. We cannot download it from Microsoft.
My understanding is that you want to use a previous version of the “Courier New” font. Am I correct?
Technically, we can just copy the font file (under %windir%\Fonts folder) from the previous system and use it to overwrite the current one (please back up the current font first).
However, I highly suggest that you call 1-800-426-9400 (select option 4), Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. (PST) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, to confirm whether this is OK for license/legal considerations.
I also performed research on Internet and you may purchase the font on Ascender Corporation. Each regular font is normally sold for $30, with a 4-font typeface set license for 5 users priced at $110.
