Problems with Firefox 10.0.2 and Windows 8

    Question

  • Hi guys,

I have noticed some redraw problems with Firefox 10.0.2 when using Windows 8.  It does not reflect the content within the window, i.e. the website you are looking at, but it does cause problems with the tabs and pulldown menus.  While viewing certain websites.  These items change colour and sometimes unreadable.

    Thanks for reading,

    kind regards

    John

  • Try the new Firefox 11 and if this doesn't fix it, attach a picture so that we can see your issue.

  • I am using the nightly build and it still is causing problems. I even used the release build. What else can I do?

  • can you start Firefox in safe-mode?

Do you still have the issue? Do you use Direct2D or GDI software rendering?

  • Not thinking this is entirely solved. Just got the latest release version installed and it's been misbehaving color-wise as well. IE 10 doesn't do it, neither does Chrome.

  • Please try to deactivate hardware acceleration in the Firefox settings, it worked for me! :-)

That DOES seem to remove the funky color changes when moving between tabs.. Good find.
