Where is the password stored in windows 7

    Question

  • We have deepfreeze and it freezes drive C: but leaves D: thawed.  We put the user folders on D: but the user still can not change password.

  • Hello,

AFAIK, user accounts are stored in SAM database.

Even if you put your users folders in D drive, you will still unable to change passwords as you are using DeepFreeze.

Try to uninstall it and check again.
