How many CPU sockets is Win 7 licensed for?

    Question

  • I don't mean cores. I mean sockets.
I know XP was only licensed for up to 2 sockets.

  • I don't have a link off the top of my head, but home premium supports up to 16GB of RAM. The other versions, I believe support up to 128GB. (more than the average machine can actually slot)

All versions other than Starter support both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
