"You don't have any devices that can receive content from Video."

    Question

  • I am getting this message when I try to use Play to in the Video app with my home video files--but I have an Xbox 360 that I'm signed in on. Why can't I stream video to the Xbox? Music is streaming from the Music app, but video isn't streaming from Video.

  • Windows 8's Play To feature is broken: http://gcoupe.wordpress.com/2012/06/16/windows-8-play-to-revisited/ but it is still "by design". :P

  • This is particularly odd, since I'm using their equipment and their file format: a .wmv file (no DRM; it's a home movie) and an Xbox 360 (although, admittedly, an original one). They may have some methods/formats/designs that they don't support by design, but it would be pretty weird if they don't support this! Oh, well, I can always use the HDMI cable. :)
