Error message 0x80070570 when trying to delete a file

    Question

  •

I was trying to save an AVI file from my camcorder onto my external hard drive using Windows Movie Maker.  The program stopped working in midstream, and I had to disconnect the camera and the hard drive to close the movie maker program.  Later I tried to delete the file folder that was created and received the following message:  Error 0x80070570:  the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

How can I remove this file from my external hard drive?

    Hi brianh76,

    Thank you for the post.

Currently, I would like to provide the following suggestions:

Suggestion 1: Try to delete the files in Safe Mode.

    Suggestion 2: Check disk.

Suggestion 3: Backup other important files on the external hard drive and then format it.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,
