how to enable WLAN

  • i am using windows 7 ultimate SP1.. on compaq Presario CQ61..

    my wifi was working fine before.. now windows doesn't detects WLAN,

    i have reinstalled windows but still the same errors..

    the wifi button is on with the blue light, but windows doesn't detects WLAN..

    i have also checked WLAN autoconfig, & clicked on start service..

    but nothing happens..

    in device manager: network : realtek pciee fe Family controller ( device working properly )

    i am not getting why WLAN is not being enabled while the HP network assisstant only displays bluetooth enabled.

    how to fix it?

  • Hi,

    Please update your wireless network adapter driver.

    If Windows doesn’t detect a network, it could be because of one of the following reasons:

    1. The wireless switch on your computer is turned off;
    2. Your computer is too far from the wireless router or access point;
    3. The wireless router or access point is turned off or isn’t working properly;
    4. There is interference from other devices;
    5. The router or access point is busy;
    6. The network you are looking for is set to not broadcast its network name;
    7. Your network administrator is blocking access to certain networks;
    8. The wireless network adapter is in monitor mode.

    In addition, start the WLAN AutoConfig service and WWLAN AutoConfig service then do remember to click “Apply” and “OK” button.
