    Question

  •

My windows defender turns off at restart and during the day with the computer on.  Sometimes I cannot turn windows defender on as it tells me the security center cannot turn it on, try again later.  What is the deal.  When it is working I am able to get updates.  The updates are not the problem.  I even have the permission checked for all changes but somehow it turns off without me giving it permission.  I cannot find anything anywhere on this problem.  PLEAS HELP.  I also have Windows Live One Care which should be compatable.  Both of these were installed on the computer when I bought it last month.

My windows firewall also turns off.

Hi flower3013, please understand that after installing Windows Live OneCare, Windows Defender will be integrated in Windows Live OneCare to provide one-stop antivirus, anti-spyware service. This issue can occur if Windows Live OneCare did not fully disable Windows Defender on Windows Vista side. I recommend you submit a service request via the following link:

    Hope this helps!
