  • Hi,

    Thanks for the post.

Could you please let me know what extension of these files are?

Based on my experiences, there are created by 3rd party software. Maybe these are log files of some applications.

    Hi,

    Thanks for Answer.

The name: "8ø†" and "Øö8", without file extension. Size, each with 20 Bytes. At the same time as here I wrote my post, i had moved this files to the trashcan, without constrictions in daily work. Maybe this files are used at install time by 3rd-party software - possible my Realtek sound driver, because the clock time stamp approximately are same. I don't think these files are logfiles, because they not waxing, even befor I had they moved to trashcan. Additionally information: clock time stamp is circa the windows installation clock time. Maybe somebody can verify clean windows installation comes without these files? System is Win7 Ultimate N 32Bit SP1 German.

Okay, i have found Microsoft Security Essentials Homepage and want to submit these files there as sample.

    Regards,

    Lloyd

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the update.

The clean installation would not create these kind of files.
