Magicjack not working across users in Windows 8

    Question

  • In Win7 (Home Edition), I used to login to admin account and start an application (say Magicjack VOIP for instance). As long as the admin account was signed in Magicjack worked no matter which user logged in. When I upgraded to Win8 Pro, Magicjack only works when my account (admin) is active. When other users log in and my account is signed in but inactive, Magicjack stops working.

Can anyone help me to set Win8 up such that my applications will work as long as I am signed in and other users log in?

    Help!!!

  • Magicjack does not work on Windows 8. There is no driver.

    There is no MJ timetable.

  • I've just upgraded to 8.1 and no one was able to help me.  I almost have our magic jack working perfectly now.  Fixing your problem is easy.  Go into your task manager.  Check the "start up" list, make sure Magic Jack is on it, if it isn't "add" it.  Then right click on magic jack, then click on properties.  In the properties box click on Security (settings).  Edit each user to make sure they have "FULL" access.  You can also "add" additional users here or by clicking "advanced settings" and adding them there.

Then go into the "compatability" section of the properties box and check mark the box to run magic jack in windows 7.

No go to your control panel. Click on the section regarding how apps are treated under the "Windows Firewall" section.  Click on "change settings", then go down to the magic jack programs and make sure that both the private and public boxes are checked.  Then click on OK.

I am still having a problem with a connection delay (I have the original Magic Jack).  Also after connecting it takes about 30 seconds before I can hear them or they can hear me on both incoming and outgoing calls.  Can you help me with this?
