cursor jumping with windows 8

    Question

  • The Cursor is jumping around while I type. This is very frustrating. I only just upgraded to Windows 8, it was a clean install,   i had windows 7 using outlook program for my emails and never had a problem with the cursor jumping like this, any ideas?

  • Is this on a laptop with a touchpad?  If so, it could be that the touchpad was disabled in Windows 7 and the upgrade reactivated it.  When you are typing it is easy to accidently touch it and then the cursor could jump.  Look into how to disable the touchpad under Windows 8.

  • Hi,

Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following:

    1. Check if other mouse also meets the same issue.

    2. Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If not, please also try to find the cause with clean boot

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

    Thanks.
