I have a Wireless Optical Desktop (Keyboard and Mouse). I have misplaced my drivers and can not find anywhere on the internet where I can find drivers that works for my "Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver 2.1". I want to install it for Windows XP. I have downloaded a couple of versions of software but none that works for my desktop set.
Please, can ANYONE help.
Are the drivers for this not native to Windows XP or downloadable from Windows Update?

Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately it does not install natively with Windows XP. When you insert the device into the USB slot, it gives me the following error: "one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". In the past it did give me this error before I installed the CD, but worked perfectly after the Driver install.
Have you tried installing Microsoft's IntelliPoint (for the Mouse) and IntelliType (for the Keyboard)? Microsoft.com has 1 or 2 different versions of them available for download.

What model optical mouse is it? I understand that the optical desktop receiver is a common item with Microsoft Optical Mice.
I have to say that the drivers that David has mentioned are the ones that have come with any Microsoft optical mice we have had here, although they have never needed installing.
You can download Microsoft Hardware drivers and software here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=mk
