Cannot Troubleshoot Network Issues - An Error Occurred While Troubleshooting

    Question

  • Hello,

Everytime I try to run the network diagnostics tool, I get a pop up message saying:-

    An Error Occurred While Troubleshooting

An unexpected error has occurred. The troubleshooting wizard cannot continue

    Under error details:-

    PackageID - Unknown

    Path - Unknown

    Error Code - 0x80070005

    Source - Temporary Files

    Context - Restricted.

Is there a way I could get it back working without doing a fresh install of Windows?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

According to your description, I assume that the redirected temp folder cause this issue. So you may try to restore the temp folder for a test.

Also, you may try to delete all the files in the temp folder and check the folder’s security permission.

In addition, You may troubleshoot it in Clean Boot Mode.

  • No I didn't change any settings - the only change I made was to move the temp folder from C to another drive just to free up more space in C

undo this moving of the temp folder.

Do you get a UAC prompt to allow the action? Have you changed the UAC settings?
