Bitlocker Keeps Asking for recovery key after extending C Drive

  • Hi

    We have Dell OptPlex 990 Desktop with TPM 1.2 Enabled.

    We have encrypted C:\ (OS) using bitlocker ; till some days it was working fine

    But, After extending the C:\ drive its keep asking recovery at every reboot.

  • As per Praskashs suggestion, I would say suspend BitLocker to make the change. The policies can kick in to protect the OS drive or if you've got fixed drive data restricted and then extend it, BitLocker has issues because it stops the drive from being changed, the change registered into the disk management could upset it and make it prompt.

  • Hi,

    I would like suggest you try the following methods:

    When the Windows7 partition is booted, open the control panel, select the bitlocker option and then suspend bitlocker, then restart it.
