Secure Socket Protocol Service will not run - causing excessive errors & trouble accessing NAS shares

    Question

  • Anyone got any idea how to evaluate the attached system error messages that are occurring by the thousands on my system?  My belief is that anytime I see a service not being able to "locate a file", it has something to do with a misconfigured .NET run-time assembly.

I am also experiencing other issues, like window explorer's snail access to a NAS share (winhttp service stopping) and inability to sucessfully configure an ATI tuner card (which is also complains about inability to locate numerous .NET 2.0 CLI & MOM assembly files).

HOW DO YOU REPAIR .NET 2.0 in VISTA SP1 ?????????  I have repaired .NET 3.5 SP1 via control panel  - .NET 1.1 SP1 has also been re-installed. I ran sfc /scannow, but no errors were detected.  According to MSDN forums, it might be time to try to repair the registry via Vista OS repair itself.  Anybody got any better suggestions?

  • I too am getting a very similar error, has been going on for about a week.  Want to say it is after installing Adobe 9.0.  Anyone's insight would be great.
