    When I go to my fishing chalet, there is no internet service available nor is there cell phone service.  I wish to work on my files in the evening but I can't sign in to my laptop.  Operating system is Win 8.1.  How can I start the computer when offline?  It asks for my old password but that doesn't work.

    If you are using Microsoft Account to login, you have to use the same username and password that you use to login when you have internet connection with the one you want to use without internet connection.

    If you recently changed you password for Microsoft Account you have to stay connect to internet for a while to sync your account with new password.

    Hi,

    How about login system with network connected? Microsoft Account password is stored into local drive in Windows 8, 8.1. So that Microsoft Account user can login their system even network is unaccesable.

    For your problem, I doubt you may encounter a system login problem. So, please provide as more details as you can, So that we can help you more effective.
