BOOTMGR is Compressed

    Question

  • hello, I am using Windows 7 and few days back I compressed my C drive and after that I am facing the error on start up that bootmgr is compressed press ctrl+ald+del to restart.... I tried each and every possible solution to get it fixed I tried windows 7 cd/dvd to boot my system but it did not work then I made a windows 7 bootable usb drive and changed the BIOS settings still its not working ... Its been more than 3 days now and I am not able to get my computer fixed. Please help me regarding that as i am not even able to boot my system with any of the prescribed methods...

    Please reply ASAP...

        First of all I would like to tell you that don't ever compress the windows file and don't make any changes unless you are sure

       about the result. Back to you issue. Insert the Windows CD , when you see the windows that give you option to chose action

       install window then don't  choose install now , take a look left bottom cornor there is one option availble repair choose that

       option. after that read instruction and go on you will a windows which has many option such as system restore etc. you need

      look for cmd prompt. select that option and press enter then you have CMD prompt you need enter commands

      1:bootrec /fixmbr

      2:bootrec /fixboot

      3:bootrec /rebuildbcd

      4:bootrec /scanos

      hope it will work. After runing these commands run this cmd as well C:/expand bootmgr temp .
