Sculpt Mobile Keyboard is not recognized by "Mouse and Keyboard Center"

    Question

  • After successfully installing the Sculpt Mobile keybaord via Bluetooth (typing this message on it right now), and downloading the Mouese and Keyboard Center Application from http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/sculpt-mobile-keyboard (as specified in the quick start guide) the installed Mouse and Keyboard Center will not recognize the keyboard at all, only the Microsoft Sculpt Mobile mouse I use in parallel.

Removing the Mouse and Keyboard Center, restarting the PC, and re-downloading and re-installing does not help.

Please advice on how to get Mouse & Keyboard Center to work ... or an alternative on how to customize the keyboard functions (like F1..F12 keys)

    Thanks

  • Please use the Hardware support website provided by Microsoft for hardware support: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/support

There is also a telephone number for support of your keyboard @ http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/sculpt-mobile-keyboard#support

  • I'm in the same boat.  I'm on the phone right now with MS Level 2 Support, and they're not able to help. The en-us site is instructing to download the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.2.731:
    http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/sculpt-mobile-keyboard#support

...while the en-ca site lists no driver/software downloads for this model:

Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

  • *Sorry about my poor English.

    I have the same problem.

I ran into this page when I was looking for the way to change the layout of Sculpt Mobile keyboard. I'd like to get back the old-fashioned function keys instead of Windows 8 shortcuts. I know the existence of Fn key, but I don't want to press it with  "function keys (I might need to call them Windows 8 ...)" at the same time.

I hope Mouse & Keyboard Center can make it possible.

Is there anyone who can help me?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

I am also experiencing the problem limitation.

I need to use traditional function keys, F1... F12 instead of new Windows 8 shortcuts. As a software developers, we use these function keys very much.

How can I lock the function behavior. I also have an sculpt mobile keyboard.

    Igor.

  • Incredibly Microsoft just released a new version of the Mouse and Keyboard Center and this issue is still there. Fail.

  • I'm in the same boat. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, removing the device driver, etc. Nothing seems to work. I even tried the AutoHotKey remapping script to no avail.

    Anyone find a solution?

  • Why is everyone wasting their time posting here about mouse and keyboard software?

This is a Windows 7 operating system Peer-to-Peer End User forum which is not part of Microsoft Customer Support nor Microsoft Software Engineering.

No one in this forum can re-write the mouse and keyboard software to fix any anomalies with it.

You must complain DIRECTLY TO MICOSOFT!!!!
