Adobe Flash won't install in Firefox 3

    Question

  • Have read previous threads on Flash, and made sure I'm the administrator: my first name (Barend) is shown as administrator.
Still, I am often getting the msg "Page can only be viewed with Flash player- Install?".
Instead of installing I only get the option to download.
Starting the download first leads to failure, then the W7 msg "Do you want to start with the approriate settings?" and then I can choose between IE and Firefox.
But it still doesn't install correctly, because empty pages and the msg as in line 2 keeps appearing.

  • Download directly the pluggin thru any other site: use google to locate it, and install it manually. It works.

  • I went to the following site and tested flash and shockwave.  My flash is installed correctly but it says it wont install shockwave because its saying its not supported on my release.

  • I had the same problem. I installed like this tip from another forum: "I fixed mine after hours of frustration. What I had to do was go into my Internet Exporer and then go to where you install the Adobe Flash Player. When I got to the installation screen I clicked on "Different operating system or browser?" and selected Windows Vista/XP, then I selected Firefox. After it finished installing I opened up my Firefox and it immediately played everything with the Flash Player. Yay! Hope this helps..."

Give it a try 'cause it's worked for me.

  • I may be of some help, i had the SAME issue here is what i did and it
    worked for me

Go to uninstall program files and find adobe flash now listen
carefully for me it said " Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X" (something
along those lines) I uninstalled USING WINDOWS not downloading the
plugin so that it uninstalls it for you NO NO. Now download the plugin
for firefox and install. now for some odd reason it says "Adobe Flash
Player 10 PLUGIN" oddly enough this fixed all my flash issues.

    Hope this helps!

  • System: Win7x64

    Turn off ZoneAlarm.

    “Run as administrative” Firefox.

I then went to the following install page which works:

    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

    It installed.

The following install page does not work:

    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

The following thread discusses the problem with http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ download.

Install Flash Plugin Manually in Firefox on Vista

With so many Firefox users, Adobe needs to fix the http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ download for Win7 users.
