Activation of OEM Vista Home Premium x64 Problem

    Question

  • After using my new PC for a month and a half, I keep getting an Activation request. When I try to activate,in Computer/Properties, I get an activation error. When I try to validate online, I get a message that says WGA cannot verify my activation.

I ran MGSDiag.exe nd here is what I got:

  • I Have the same problem 0XC004F061 'this product can only be used for upgrading not for clean installations' and it is BS! I have Loved the Speed and Functionality of Vista 64 Home Basic Upgrade and have wondered why so many people have had a Bad Experience with VISTA?
    WELL...

I just got off the Phone with Activation and Then was Directed to Microsoft 8009365700, They told Me I installed wrong?

They told me that I installed the Product Wrong(I have probably installed os's from DOS to Vista64 well over 300 times as I am a computer tech, I personally still support about 10 pc's from xp home to :( vista64

To quote The 32 bit Vista Home upgrade Box   'you must perform a clean install of windows unless you are upgrading from xp home sp2 home ed'

Of course ordered the 64bit dvd from Microsoft

Makes NO sense cause I know there is no 64bit version of xp home...'this product can only be used for upgrading not for clean installations'

This is so wrong! Give Me a real product key that works Microsoft!

Found the "answer" in online Documentation You Must Select "Custom" Installation and install over xp 32bit? Sweet that's really handy if your dual booting etc... What a load of ____, Why not do what all other software makers do and Enter your Previous Serial # ?
