Screen too big in Windows 8

    Question

  • I installed Windows 8 and it looks fine on my 23 inch Dell monitor.  However, when I hook it up to my receiver (via HDMI), the picture on the big screen is too big.  The TV is hooked up to the receiver via HDMI as well.  It's not way off, but enough to make it a pain.  When I change the resolution, nothing changes.  The icons don't see to change at all, the resolution doesn't seem to change at all either.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

  • What is model and manufacturer of your PC?

    Have you updated your Windows?

Did you installed latest graphic card driver?

  • What video card are you using? Look up a feature called Overscan. You should be able to adjust that with the manufacturer drivers and their control panel (NVIDIA or AMD/ATI control panel, I believe Intel has one, too). The resolution should be fine, it's just an overscan adjustment.
