webdav folder access error : 0x80070780

    Question

  • i created a webdav remote network folder to connect to. the creation of the folder was successful, and i was able to log-in. but when i tried to copy a file into the folder, it gave me the error code 0x80070780, and "this file cannot be accessed by the system". it is very strange that i had another webdav folder created few months ago, and that one works fine.

i'm using windows 7 professional on Lenovo X201i, any help will be appreciated!

  • I presume you are using the default WebDAV client in Windows.

That page solved the same problem for me - the issue was the "Require Lock for Writing" setting under WebDAV Settings. It needs to be False if clients are connecting to the share directly in Explorer (via mapped drive or Network Place).
