Can't open link in Outlook 2010

    Question

  • Every time I try and open a linl within an email I get the following error message This operations has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.  Please contact System Admin

    I think that the IE setting casue it.

  • I had the same exact issue and here's what I found and what you need to do to fix it:

    This happens when you uninstall Google Chrome/Google toolbar.  This may also cause problems when launching or saving in other Office apps.

    The Microsoft Fix It is what I used and it worked for me.

    If this does not work then do a clean install of Office.

  • Simple fix, change your defualt browser, then return IE as your defualt browser, or use the Fixit tool.
