SM Bus controller Cant find a driver

    Question

  • I am currently working on an emachines w3506. The computer was wiped clean and I installed Windows XP Professional on it.  I went to the emachines site and found all the drivers execpt the SM Bus controller.  I have checked multiple sites including Intel and have not found one that has worked. Does any one have any suggestions?

  • Hi,

If you try some other driver from a close or similar motherboards cd.

I have used this tip successfully. Even the lastest motherboard driver DVD's might help.

The ones that check your computer automatically.

If thats not possiable try this link http://www.computerdriverfinder.com/

  • In what order did you install the drivers?  I have seen this issue when the motherboard drivers are not the first drivers installed after a wipe and restore. The other thing you could try and do is visit this website and try this: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-013541.htm just an idea.

  • I recently redone e-mach w3050 with same problem.  I downloaded the bios for the boARd and it fixed most . Also try the chipset one too after that should be good to go.
