Run-time error '339'

    Question

  • I am trying to play a game, but when it starts to load I get Run-time error '339' MSWINSCK.OCX not registered or missing.

I attempted to run RegSvr32 like you would in Vista, but I get this message:
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Any ideas on how to go about fixing this? Thanks! :)

  • Hi Haze90,

Did you run this command as administrator? If not, please try it.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks.
Tried some permission editing and got it fixed.

    Thanks!

  • Hai,

The solution is to force re-registration of the ocx file by typing regsvr32 mswinsck.ocx

If this fails, you may need to include the full location name including your Windows system filefolder path. Search the location of this file in your system (For example regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\mswinsck.ocx).

If there is still a problem, locate mswinsck.ocx on your system and rename it. Then install the Game again
Hope this will find a solution

  • I had placed a mark at "sign in as administrator" in the properties when I got this error.

After deleting this mark the program started as usual.
