Group Policy Error: SQL query syntax invalid or unsupported

    Pregunta

  • Hi, I sucessfully have installed SP3 using group policy, on Windows 2003 SP1 to Windows XP SP1.

When I created the group policy this error was recored in the Application log on the server :

    (CSV File)

1/7/2008,5:08:16 PM,Software Installation,Error,None,107,N/A,SERVER01,"Software Installation was unable to read the MSI file \\server01.contoso.com\ServicePack\i386\update\update.msi.  The following error was encountered: SQL query syntax invalid or unsupported.

However the deploy was recored as sucessfull (information system event: 5:35:46 PM Windows XP Service Pack 3 was installed (Service Pack 1 was previously installed).)

The XP computer was restarted 5:35:47 PM (the 'reason' could be clearer in the event log) infomation:

The process msiexec.exe has initiated the restart of DESKTOPSP3 for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
     Minor Reason: 0x2
     Shutdown Type: reboot
Comment: The Windows Installer initiated a system restart to complete or continue the configuration of 'Windows XP Service Pack 3 (1033)'.

The only system errors recorded on the XP computer are:

The DCOM errors repeat every hour, 2 errors, less then 1 minute between them.
