Sansa Media Converter Not Compatible With Windows 7

    Debate general

  • I have a Sansa Fuze media player.  All videos to be put on the device need to be converted with their proprietary media converter.

The latest version of their converter, SMC_4_256, installed on Win 7 (64 bit and 32-bit) without an issue. However, it doesn't convert a DVD resolution mpg video file (which the Converter does on my XP computer).

    The conversion stays at 0%.

The same application did not even install on Vista 64 bit, but it does install on Win 7. It just does not work / convert videos after you install it.

Win7/x64, same problem. 3rd party Codecs installation didn't help either.

  • I have Windows 7 and i am able to convert MP4 videos onto my Sansa Fuze. But recently my converter stops after 6 videos. So i have to wait for half a day, then finish or do another 6.
