"Missing operating system" massage because of "mark disk partition as active"

    Pregunta

  • Hai,,

"Missing operating system" massage  is coming when i start my system. I think
because , i had given "mark partition as active" option for one hard
dive (E) in disk management when last time i opened. it did not have any data.
i did not know, this will make any problem. Now i am not  able to boot windows re installation dvd
also. i can only take BIOS settings.

How i can activate my original partion?

or how i can mark as incative my other partion?

please any one suggest any way for
    rectifying this problem  ASAP.

  • If you cannot boot into Windows, you will have to find a disk utility on the internet, like Partition Magic, that can be put on a bootable disk so you can access the partition information.

  • From the command prompt

    diskpart
    list disk
    select disk 1
    list partition
    select partition 1
    active

    Exit  (diskpart)

Disk 1 and Partition 1 are assumed values in your case they might be different like disk 2 partition 1.
Reboot and try it if it works if it doesn't you may need to update booth path

    cd windows\system32
    bcdboot d:\windows /s c:
