ipconfig /all shows "Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection *"

    Pregunta

  • When I run an ipconfig /all on my Vista x86 Enterprise laptop, it returns nearly 100 adapters.  The list continues to grow on a weekly basis.  I believe it grows everytime I use my Sprint EVDO card.  Here is what is at the end of the list:

    Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 98:

       Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
       Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
       Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.{F6978825-50FB-41C5-8602-61311D3A8C8F}
       Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0
       DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
       Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

    Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 99:

       Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
       Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . :
       Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.{F6978825-50FB-41C5-8602-61311D3A8C8F}
       Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0
       DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
       Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

    Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection* 100:

       Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
       Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : home
       Description . . . . . . . . . . . : isatap.home
       Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0
       DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
       Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes

    Is there a way to clear the list or do they serve some purpose?

    One post I read mentioned turning off IPv6 in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters\ and setting the value of EnableICSIPv6 to 255, but that didn't appear to change anything that is already there.

  • Hi,

    This issue can occur when the system is migrated between different networks often.

    First, if SP1 has not been installed, please install Windows Vista SP1 and check the result.

    If the issue persists, follow these steps to clear the list:

    1.    Click Start, type cmd in the Start Search box, right click the cmd.exe, and then click Run as Administrator.

    2.    In the Command Prompt, type netsh int isa set state disabled, and press Enter.

    Hope it helps.

  • That did it.  The system problem had been there since it was built 10/2007 and upgraded to SP1 when it went RTM.

    I spoke too soon.  The they all returned and the list is growing.  I did a netsh int isa show state and it was back to default.  I ran the set state disabled again.  We'll see...

    I am still trying to understand the reason or purpose for all of these entries.  Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

  • i read somewhere that it is related to ipv6. i removed ipv6 from my adapters settings but the connections are still there (i still didn't reboot but i don't think it is important).

    i tried the command netsh int isa set state disabled but nothing changes. when i type ipconfig the connections are still there:
