windows updates

    Domanda

  • everyday Windows downloads the same three updates and says they are successfully installed. If I look in' Update History' they are listed but when I go to' Installed Updates' it  says 'there are no updates installed on this computer". Has anyone got any clues. I emailed Microsoft tech help but they were not any help.

  • Hi,

Firstly, please let us know what kind of updates, such as Office/.NET Framework failed to install?

Meanwhile, you can try the following steps to test the issue.

    1. Manually download and install the update from Download Center

    2. Reset Windows update components

How do I reset Windows Update components?

    3. Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder.

To do this, follow these steps:

        1. Open an administrative Command Prompt window.

        2. Run the following commands, and press Enter after each command:

             Net stop wuauserv

             cd %systemroot%

             Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

             Net start wuauserv

Then check the updates to see the results.

    Hope this helps

  • You can download each update from the Download Center and install it manually by running the installation package as Administrator; restart your system after completing each installation.
You can either download and run the System Update Readiness Tool (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool) or completely reset the Windows Update components (read the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 971058) and then try to run Windows Update again.

    Bye.
