my hard drive fried, got replaced and now trying to open programs

    Pergunta

  • 2 weeks ago my laptop wouldn't boot, found out hard drive fried. Sent it off to be replaced, got it back and  trying to start over(since I lost everything). Downloaded some music and keep trying to open Windows Media Player but it wont open. It is in my start menu, but not on the list of intalled programs. I tried intalling the Media Pack for Windows 7N but says not able to install. I have no way to listen to my music.

Lost everything? You have replaced the hard drive and got it back, do you mean that you have clean installed Windows 7? If not, I suggest you run "sfc /scannow"(without quotes) to check and repair your system. In the meantime, if the issue persists, you'd better have an In-Place Upgrade to repair system.

Since you have lost everything, I think to clean install Windows 7 is a good idea.
