Changed active partition in Windows 7 get BOOTMGR is missing error on startup

    Pergunta

  • I changed the active partition in Windows 7 Home Premium.  Now when I start my XPS L501X laptop it always gives me the error message "BOOTMGR is missing" press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart.

How do I reset the active partition?

I have not been able to access F8 at start up either.

    Thanks, Wisephoton.

  • You'll need to boot from the installation DVD or repair disk if you created one and select repair options, startup repair.

You enter the language options, next and on the Install now page, select Repair your computer. (bottom left) Then Startup repair.

    That should do it.

I did the same thing but the repair disk isn't working.
