Upgrading to SDK 1.7 from Web PI

    Question

  • Hello,

I'm currently working with the Azure SDK & tools v1.6 and Visual Studio 2010 SP1.

I'd like to upgrade to the recent 1.7 release, but looking at the options offered by Web PI, I'm not sure which package to select among the following choices...

    • Windows Azure Tools 1.7 for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (June 2012)
    • Windows Azure SDK Tools for Visual Studio 2010
    • Windows Azure SDK for .NET (VS 2010 SP1) - June 2012
    • Windows Azure SDK
    • Windows Azure SDK 1.7 (June 2012)
    • Windows Azure Libraries for .NET
    • Windows Azure Libraries for .NET 1.7 (June 2012)
    • Windows Azure Tools 1.7 for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (June 2012) - AGAIN!
    • Windows Azure Tools for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (Latest)
    • Windows Azure Tools 1.7 for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (June 2012) - AGAIN!

Please, tell me I'm not the only one being confused by this!

    Thanks
    Thomas

  • Hi,

I suggest you refer to this link to download latest Azure SDK, here please choose the Windows Azure SDK for Visual Studio 2010, and WPI will help you select correct components:

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, that seemed to work.

Now if I try to browse the data in my storage emulator using the Neudesic Storage Explorer for example, it is completely empty, whereas there is still data in the SQL Express database that supports the emulator... Is this an expected result?

    Best regards
    Thomas
