I need some assistance on a specific issue with FAILOVER CLUSTERING. I was recently tasked with building Windows 2008 R2 failover clusters to support some high-end applications services. I was able to resolve all issues reported by "Cluster validation
tool" and everything now reports GREEN and nodes are ready for clustering on both nodes.
But when I attempt to "CREATE CLUSTER" with both nodes it fails everytime. The funny thing is that I can create the CLUSTER with either node by themselves, the AD Object appears in the COMPUTER AND USER Directory services and is created. But, again I can
not get both nodes to create the CLUSTER together.
Here is my current enivroment, Window 2008 R2 (VMWARE VM Servers) attached to NETAPPS shared storage.
Try about page 35 in the VMware doc. Sounds like you have two VMware servers, are using HA, are using Physical Pass Through RDMs, and don't have VM Affinity set. Either that, or you have a single VMware server, and are using Physical Pass Through
RDMs, thereby attempting to put both VMs on the same physical VMware server.
