windows search catalog is corrupt

    Question

  • Serverinformation: W2008R2 with role fileservices and windows search

    i get error messages
    id7042-windows search problems... the catalog is corrupt
    id7040 corrupt files where found
    id 1008 start windows search remove old search index......
    the server rebuild the index any time.

    i deleted the old index, removed and installed the server roles again, but the error was not eliminated. what can i do?.

  • c:\programdata\microsoft was already excluded by virus scan and backup. thats not the solution. thanks for your reply.

    Please try to run System File Checker to scan and repair the system files. For the detailed information, please refer to the following Microsoft KB article:
